About
About PopaDex
PopaDex brings your net worth across currencies into one view. Keep accounts manually, sync supported banks, and use browser-side encryption for eligible financial records.
What PopaDex does
One balance sheet across currencies
Add bank accounts, investments, property, pensions and debts, then review them together. Premium keeps ongoing records in each account's original currency and shows a combined reporting view. The multi-currency guide explains how to check the totals.
Bank updates where supported
On Premium, you can connect a supported bank so balances update without entering every new figure by hand. Availability and refresh behavior vary by provider and account type. Check the institution directory for your bank; you can always keep an unsupported account manually.
Tools for FIRE planning
Alongside net-worth history, PopaDex includes tools for exploring financial independence. They use your inputs to estimate possible outcomes, not to predict returns or give personal financial advice. Read the FIRE calculator guide for the assumptions behind the estimates.
What makes PopaDex different
Multi-currency tracking that keeps the originals
A converted total is useful, but so is knowing what each account holds in its own currency. Premium keeps those original-currency records alongside a combined reporting view. Standard is free for manual records in one consistent currency; the pricing guide explains the plan boundary.
End-to-end encryption for eligible records
Putting your accounts in one place shouldn't require storing every balance in readable form. In encryption-enabled forms, PopaDex encrypts account names, balances and financial-record amounts in your browser before sending them to the server. The server still needs certain details to run the app: currency and dates to organize your records, and connected-bank data to sync supported accounts. We'd encrypt those details too if those functions could work without server access. See exactly what's encrypted, including how setup and older records affect coverage.
Automated syncing with a manual fallback
Connect supported institutions on Premium and let available bank updates do some of the work. If an account cannot connect, add it manually and update it when you review your finances. Bank coverage and refresh frequency depend on the provider; check your institution before subscribing.
A different job from YNAB
YNAB is built around zero-based budgeting and decisions about income and spending. PopaDex is centered on net-worth tracking and cross-currency balance records. They address different financial questions, and someone may prefer budgeting software if assigning spending is their main goal. Our PopaDex and YNAB comparison covers the fit and limitations of each.
Who uses PopaDex
PopaDex is designed for people who want a clearer record of their financial position, including:
- People living abroad or moving between countries, with accounts in more than one place.
- Remote workers and internationally mobile households who hold balances in different currencies.
- People tracking assets and debts together, including property, pensions or investments.
- People following net-worth progress as part of a FIRE plan.
- Couples who want to review their shared financial picture and have checked the account and encryption requirements.
If your main need is transaction budgeting, tax filing or specialist investment analysis, compare products designed for that workflow as well.
The person behind PopaDex
Hi, I'm Duarte. After living in several countries, I had accounts spread across banks and currencies, and keeping a clear picture of them was more work than it should have been. I'm interested in FIRE, so I wanted one place to see it all, with bank updates where possible and better privacy for the balances I entered. I couldn't find a tool that brought those things together, so I built PopaDex for myself. I still run it on my own.
I run PopaDex from Switzerland; the company is incorporated in the UK.
How PopaDex works
Open the sample dashboard before creating an account. To start, add accounts manually or connect an institution listed as supported. Review balances in the net-worth view and return to add updated records over time. Manual information needs your attention; connection availability and refresh behavior depend on the provider, institution and account type.
The free Standard plan is for manual tracking in one consistent currency. Premium costs $5 per month at the current web price and adds ongoing multi-currency records and supported connections. Confirm availability for your exact account and the price, currency and terms shown at checkout. Questions about product access or account support can go to [email protected].

Frequently asked questions
Who founded PopaDex?
I'm Duarte. I started PopaDex to get one view of my own accounts after living in several countries, and I still build and run it myself.
Why did you build PopaDex?
I wanted to track my progress toward FIRE without piecing together balances from different currencies and banks. I also wanted supported bank updates without giving up privacy for the records I entered, and couldn't find a tool that worked that way.
Where is PopaDex based and incorporated?
PopaDex operates from Switzerland and is incorporated in the United Kingdom.
Can I connect my bank?
Connections are available only for supported institutions and account types on Premium. Check the institution directory before subscribing. You can use manual records when a connection is unavailable; connection behavior can vary by provider.
What is free, and what does Premium add?
Standard is free and supports manual records in one consistent currency. Premium, currently $5/month on the web, adds ongoing records across original currencies and connections for supported institutions. See current pricing and plan limits before choosing.
