How to export YNAB plan and transaction data
YNAB exports plan/category data and transactions from the web app into separate CSV or TSV files. Keep them as your archive; PopaDex does not currently promise direct ingestion of YNAB exports.

Use the web app and preserve both files

Choose PopaDex when
- You need global net worth and currency context.
- You can keep YNAB history as a separate archive.
- You are replacing only the balance-sheet job.
Pause or keep the other workflow when
- You need YNAB's budgeting method.
- Targets, notes or category history must remain live.
- The exported totals have not been reconciled.
A low-risk trial protocol
- Wait for YNAB historical data to finish loading in the web app.
- Export the plan and all transactions.
- Store both files unchanged and record row counts/date ranges.
- Use current account balances to create a same-date PopaDex snapshot; do not upload the YNAB files.
Examples are instructions, not customer results. Check balances against your own source records and use one reconciliation date.
