A safe switch separates the old product archive from a reconciled current snapshot. PopaDex does not promise that a competitor export can be imported; create the snapshot manually unless the exact current file format is documented as supported.

Archive, snapshot and import are different

Choose PopaDex when
- You want a net-worth-first dashboard.
- You can reconcile a current snapshot before cancelling the old product.
- You accept manual records for unsupported institutions or assets.
Pause or keep the other workflow when
- You would lose a budgeting, forecasting or specialist portfolio feature you rely on.
- Historical transaction migration is mandatory.
- You have not retained an independent archive.
A low-risk trial protocol
- Export and store an untouched archive.
- Pick a date and capture source balances.
- Create one free manual account and reconcile it.
- Add the rest without cancelling the previous product.
- Repeat the review once before deciding to switch.
Examples are instructions, not customer results. Check balances against your own source records and use one reconciliation date.
Sources and evidence boundary
PopaDex plan and product boundaries follow the current pricing documentation, security documentation and the live product. This is a desk review, not an independent security audit or a funded-account test of every competitor feature.
Connection coverage is an institution-level check
PopaDex Standard supports manual records. Premium adds optional connections where a provider supports the exact country, institution and account type. A provider directory, country name or bank brand does not prove that every account will appear or that every field and historical period will sync.
Before you pay for a connection
- Write down the country, institution and exact account type you need.
- Confirm that exact result in the live connection flow or ask [email protected]. Do not email credentials, account numbers or balances.
- Read the provider and permission screen. Connection methods and data scope can differ by institution.
- Connect one authorized account first. Compare its balance, currency and update date with the source institution.
- Keep a manual record for unsupported or unreliable accounts and review how to revoke the connection.
Migration compatibility matrix
“Export available,” “CSV” and “spreadsheet” are not compatibility claims. The matrix separates a current manual snapshot, the narrow monthly category importer and archives that PopaDex does not ingest directly.

Do not test an import over records you need to preserve. The monthly CSV path can replace an existing category/month, and a later-row error can leave earlier rows saved. Keep the original file and use the documented format limits before considering that route.
